You generally do not need to calculate your own cluster points manually. KUCCPS uses an automated placement system that computes these points after receiving your KCSE examination performance data from the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC). Your computed weighted cluster points are readily available in your official KUCCPS student portal. Follow these steps:

• Weighted Cluster Points: These represent your computed performance in the four subjects required for a specific degree program, compared to the performance of the best candidates in that KCSE examination year. They are based on your overall KCSE performance and the specific cluster subject requirements for a course.
• Cut-off Points: These are the weighted cluster points of the last competitively placed student in a particular degree program in a given year. These points can vary each year based on the overall performance of applicants and the number of available slots.

4. How KUCCPS Uses Cluster Points

KUCCPS uses your weighted cluster points to match your academic qualifications with the minimum entry requirements for various degree and diploma programs. The cut-off points for each program are then used to determine who gets placed into their chosen courses.

5. How to Check for Clustered Courses

A subject cluster is a specific set of four KCSE subjects that a candidate must have sat to be eligible for a given degree program. All degree programs that require the same combination of four subjects are grouped into the same degree cluster.

To find the clustered courses and their subject requirements:

1. Log in to your KUCCPS Student Portal at students.kuccps.net/login/ .
2. Once logged in, navigate to the "Programmes" tab or "Downloads" section on the menu bar.
3. Here, you will find comprehensive lists and documents, such as the "DEGREE CLUSTER DOCUMENT" or "Programme Lists", which detail:
   • The various degree, diploma, and certificate programs available.
   • The specific cluster subjects required for each program.
   • The institutions offering these programs.
   • Previous years' cut-off points to guide your choices.
